UnCover The Article Access Solution that Delivers
What Is It?
UnCover is an online table of contents index and article delivery service for approximately 17,000 magazines and journals. Around 6 million articles are available through a simple online order system; 5,000 citations are added daily. Table of contents information is entered into the database as the journals are received from the publishers, so issues are indexed online at about the same time that they arrive in libraries or on the newsstand. This makes UnCover the most up-to-date index available anywhere. Most important, almost every article cited in UnCover can be ordered online and delivered to your fax machine within an average of 24 hours.
Why do I need it?
If you have a need for up-to-minute information, delivered to you quickly, you need UnCover. Articles from periodicals in the UnCover database can be sent to your fax machine within 24 hours -- often in less than 1 hour.
UnCover's new Reveal service will deliver table of contents for the journals of your choice directly to your internet email box as soon as an issue is entered in the database.
Publisher copyright royalty fees are paid for every article delivered through UnCover. You can be assured that you are in full compliance with copyright law.
How much does it cost?
Searching the UnCover database is absolutely FREE! You pay only for the articles you order. Articles cost $8.50 US, plus copyright royalty fee. Outside the US and Canada, a fax surcharge may apply. You can purchase an UnCover access password for $900 US/year and receive a $2.00 US discount on every article you order.
Libraries and other institutions may purchase gateway access and receive article discounts, dedicated ports, customized screens and local periodical holdings display. Gateway access ranges from $5,000 US to $10,000+ US per year.
How do I pay for the articles I need?
American Express, VISA, and Mastercard are accepted for payment of article charges. The UnCover Company will also accept deposit accounts or provide a monthly invoice for a billing account.
Where do I get it?
UnCover is available over the internet by telnetting to database.carl.org. You may use any standard communications software, on any PC or Macintosh.
