Localization and interactions of quantum breathers

I discuss some exact solutions of the Quantum Discrete Nonlinear Schrodinger equation which models the quantum equivalent of mobile and trapped breathers (local modes) in linear anharmonic chains with a variety of geometries. I consider the effect of impurities, long-range forces in bent and twisted chains, and breather-breather collisions.
